I have been looking forward to this step for a while.  I traced my template for the peghead design onto the veneer side.  The circles are where the tuners will eventually be installed.

The cuts to shape the peghead are made on the bandsaw.  It is traditional to make the cuts perpendicular to the plane of the fretboard rather than the peghead so I needed to make a fixture to hold the neck in the proper orientation.

Above is the fixture cut from a 2×4.  Below is the neck clamped to the fixture.

The base of the fixture can now sit on top of the bandsaw table keeping the peghead at the right angle to the blade.

Making sure to keep the base flat on the table I cut out one side,

then the other side.

The saw marks will be removed and the shape refined using files.

I think the effect of the angled cuts is neat.
